Grammy-award winning Kendrick Lamar will induct N.W.A into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on April 8th at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center. It will be an honor for the “Alright” rapper to give the award to N.W.A, who has inspired and influenced his own music and many have claimed that Kendrick is the “perfect” person to induct the rap group.
The Compton born rapper has been receiving a lot of attention lately with winning the key to the city of Compton and delivering a powerful and hopeful speech, receiving 11 nominations and four Grammy’s–including Best Rap Album for To Pimp a Butterfly, and leaving us awe-struck with his raw and unforgettable performance of “The Blacker the Berry” and “Alright” at the Grammy’s. Bringing attention to police brutality and black power, Kendrick has a presence about him that will not only expand hip-hop as a genre, but also influence how we can learn to improve society.
