The Wild Cats are coming back. Disney Channel recently announced the fourth installment of the High School Musical franchise.

The fourth movie in the franchise, which has created stars such as Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens, will center on a new group of students at East High, as well as their crosstown rivals, the West High Knights.

Ever since the 10 year reunion between the old cast in January, rumors of a “High School Musical 4” came back to the scene.

Jeffrey Hornaday, who directed Disney Channel’s movies “Teen Beach Movie,” and “Teen Beach 2” will be directing and choreographing the movie. Dan Berendsen, creator of Freeform’s Baby Daddy, and Peter Barsocchini, the screenwriter for all three High School Musical movies, will be teaming up as the screenwriters for “High School Musical 4.”

Auditions for the movie started on Tuesday, and character bios have already been made for the main cast, reported by E! News. Updates can also be found on Disney Channel’s website.

Wow, it’s really been ten years since “High School Musical” first debuted. The High School Musical franchise had a pretty satisfying ending, but let’s see what Disney does with this. I’ll jump on the 2016 nostalgia train.

What do you think? Are you excited for High School Musical 4?
